MAC-11

Type: Sub Machinegun

Nations: United States

Branch: Special Operations, Personnel Protection, Gangs

Time Period: 1972-present (2020)

Conflicts: Colombian Conflict

Other Names: Ingram M11, MAC 11

Caliber: .380 Auto, 9x19mm Parabellum

Facts: Being a more compact version of the M10 sub machinegun, the M11 uses smaller cartridges and is overall smaller in size. The .380 Auto variant has a rate of fire 1,300 rounds per minute. Due to the combination of the weapons poor controllability and accuracy, the weapon series was “fit only for combat in a phone booth” as described by the International Association of Police Chiefs weapons researcher David Steele.
