SSh-39 Helmet (WWII)

The SSh-39 is a simple steel helmet with a cloth liner. It was adopted by the Soviet Union in 1939 to replace the SSh-36. The SSh-39 were used in earlier conflicts of the Second World War but were eventually phased out by the SSh-40 in 1942. The SSh-39 would be the basis for Soviet and Russian helmet designs for the next 70 years.
